I started it because I needed to do some research for a character in the not Nola O’Grady book I’m currently writing, but I found it so impressive that I’ve continued working with it.
It even has exercises you can do to learn the runes that are fun. Instead it should be used as a reference book. I would suggest this book if you are considering on getting into more detail with runes.
I paxsin have given this book five stars, however, I have heard some rues practitioners say that there are some problems regarding the lore ciana of this book. And Paxson describes the runes in an aspect that connects them with the myths of the Nordic Gods.

It was well worth what I purchased it for. Reading the original rune poems is wonderfully enlightening and allows the individual to get a feel for what the runes might mean on their own, without the modern filter of current authors’ interpretations. It is an essential study of the runes, written well, organized well, and full of interesting information–both historic and occult.
In a series of chapters dealing with rune pairs, readers will learn the historical meaning of each individual rune and their use and meaning now, in contemporary culture. However, I suggest exploring other avenues if you want complete information, as the author has a habit of giving a very feminine-centric perspective.
