The biggest problem is that it has the potential to spoil the whole game. The best scenarios unfold like a story while they are read, giving the Keeper some of the same sense of discovery cyhulhu the players should feel when the game is run. I recommend toning these down or omitting them. It’s movable from the ‘s to the present, even though it’s written for a ‘s era. Some of the new additions are very helpful for the Keeper in that they present additional NPCs, background material and advice.
Give it a whirl if you have more free time than most.

A good scenario collection is a joy to read as well as to play, fits the themes of both the game and the books the game is based on, and is consistent lf intelligent.
About half of the quite lengthy scenario consists of NPC descriptions, and there are two whole sidebars devoted to helping the Keeper remember who everyone is, so this requires a lot of preparation and role-playing, but it’s not all character study – there are also disk pieces to find, multiple locations to explore and some hideous monsters to battle. Now the original edition of SOYS did include one such clue in Chapter One, a letter or cultist activity in Scotland that a proactive party could follow up on to jump straight into Chapter Three without the waiting for a wealthy businessman to contact them.
Next, it has a nicely constructed and well contained mainline of scenarios from the introduction to the hermetic evil order to the final confrontation. It seems somewhat odd to include basic adventures in a product clearly aimed at experienced players, but I guess they had to do something to fill out ctjulhu page count. It has a complete collection of xhadows, music suggestions, and guidance for how to recover when things go astray Call of Cthulhu allows that to happen.
The adventure’s vintage shows in a few other ways. Beginning in Boston they investigate an organization in New York, run afoul of a coven in Scotland, roam the cthhulhu of the American southwest, vacation off the coast of Maine, and explore the mysteries of the South Pacific. Since each scenario feels a bit different, players who experience the whole campaign shouldn’t get bored with it, and Keepers who prefer to pick and choose from the material are likely to find at cthulu a few things that they can adapt into their own campaigns.
As brave investigators, you must piece together passages from esoteric books, shards of strange artifacts and puzzling letters to discover the Silver Twilight’s loathsome goals.

Yeah, it’s a mess, but a likeable one. In “The Hermetic Order of the Silver Twilight,” the investigators are first led to the Order when it starts recruiting in Boston; the scenario is quite open-ended, serving mainly to introduce the recurring villain of Carl Stanford and to offer some resurrected wizards and monstrosities inspired by Lovecraft’s The Case of Charles Dexter Ward.
One of the best things about it is that it is thorough and complete. There’s also the climax, after which, you may well wonder where you can go now with Call ctthulhu Cthulhu. They’ve put a lot of meat on the bones, adding over 60 pages of new material, to make it twice as long as the original SOYS.
